Japanese motorbike maker Yamaha is recalling 1,361 motorbikes with high engine displacement in Viet Nam to fix faults related to the engine cooling system and gear box.
Eight famous motorcycle manufacturers, five of them making vehicles in
Viet Nam, and dozens of parts makers, will take part in the first
Vietnam Motorcycle Show in HCM City next month.
Despite the launch of new motorbike models and promotions, the number
of motorbikes sold continues to fall, the Dau Tu (Viet Nam Investment
Review) newspaper reports.
While motorcycle dealers bemoan the slowest sales in a decade,
manufacturers are busy since the beginning of this year, introducing new
models in the hope of triggering a revival.
Yamaha Vietnam is recalling 35,850 Jupiter and Sirius motorbikes to
correct a defect in the rear brake light, the Vietnam Register announced
on June 18.
The Viet Nam Competition Authority said that in first six months of this
year, Yamaha Viet Nam had recalled 58,196 Nozza scooters, but 24,804
units remained on the road.
